Entrepreneurs CFOWhat we will not sign

A founder deserves the boundary before the proposal. This page says what the practice will not sign, and what it will still do on the near side of that line.

The short version, before the formal one

Read The short version, before the formal one

We close months, we set payroll up on a provider you run, we write statements you can read, and we prepare the return from those months. An examined cover, a review cover, and a compilation cover are someone else's signature. We name a firm that can write them. We do not run payday. If an examination opens, this practice does not take your place in it. If your situation needs one of those, we say so at the start and we point you to someone who can.

The formal sentences are below, and they are the ones we are willing to be held to. They are not a softer version of this paragraph. If the two ever seem to disagree, the formal block wins, and the disclosures page wins after that. You should not have to infer a limit from a friendly tone.

One limit belongs in the first conversation even when you did not ask. The monthly rhythm waits until every open month has been tied. That order is the condition, said on the first call. When catch-up is the wrong fit, you leave with that answer and no agreement. A founder who only needed a conversation is allowed to leave with the conversation.

What a yes still includes

Read What a yes still includes

A yes includes the bank tie, the short statements, the margin line, the ninety-day cash line, the wage and draw names, the October choices, and the return when the folder is complete. A yes includes a video call where Steven Palmieri reads the pages with you. A yes includes saying when you do not need us.

A yes does not include a promise about a refund, a loan, or a particular result. Quotes on this site are about the work. The work has a scope, the scope is written, and the fee follows the scope. Either side can stop. Your records come back to you.

A compilation is a set of statements another firm issues with a cover that says the figures came from you and were not examined. A review is a limited look. An audit is a full examination. None of those covers is ours to sign. What we will still put in your hands is the closed month, the three pages, and the return prepared from them. If a bank or a buyer asks for the other cover, we help you see which one they actually named, and we point the signature to a firm that can write it.

If a cover in the folder asks for a signature this practice cannot give, bring the cover to the first call. We will read the sentence the other party wrote. The pages from months that already tie can still be prepared in this practice. The signature they asked for is a referral, not a negotiation.

What you were asked to sign

Quote the sentence on the cover if you have it. A description is enough.
